Letterpress Printing

Columbia Gorge Book Arts has two printing presses in its collection, one is a 1895 Golding Pearl, and the other is a Vandercook No. 3.

The only black ink I use is made from algae; it's 100% biodegradable and at large scale production is actually carbon negative! All of my paper product is sustainable as well with many different materials, weights, and colors to choose from. All of my illustrations combine at least one or all three of the following methods—pen and ink, woodblock printing, and watercolor.

Type Foundry

My most favorite machine in the shop is my 1945 Intertype, it has spent its entire life in the Portland, Oregon area. I'm its third operator. I have many typefaces, borders, and ornaments available.
